Smile is one of the most important components of success in the life of every person. That is why it is so important to take care of its beauty and the health of teeth from little up. Parents should teach the child the basic rules of mouth cavity hygiene. They should be the example of following all rules of mouth cavity hygiene.

Pediatric dentistry is one of the most important parts of dentistry. Anomalies of the development of teeth are easily prevented and cured in this age. It is important to pay special attention to children between 0 and 3 years. At the given stage of development the dentist and the pediatrician are responsible for creating optimal conditions for a child's growth and development. They are also to reveal anomalies in development at early stages. Disturbing factors start affecting teeth of very small children and can lead to structural failure, lowered ability to resist caries, slower dentition and anomalies of occlusion.

Some problems during pregnancy may cause the abovementioned malfunctions.

It is important whether a child was mature or not. Derangements of adaptation (going to kindergarten, school), hostile conditions (lack of vitamins and microelements in food), diseases experienced by a child at an early age can influence the formation and development of permanent teeth. It is also important to pay special attention to feeding. Artificial feeding is one of the possible reasons of dental anomalies. That is why breastfeeding is desirable.

It is important to remember that up to 6 months sucking is the main way of food intake. The activity of sucking influences the growth of the mandible and its advancement. Suckling is soon replaced by chewing. But if the function of suckling is still active after the child is one year old it may lead to anomalies of occlusion. Bad habits like sucking of cheeks, lips, misuse of a baby's dummy for a long period of time can be very harmful. Small children should sleep on a solid surface but not on a soft pillow. It facilitates the regular development of the jaws. To sum up, it is necessary to pay attention to the condition of teeth from early childhood. The role of parents in all this cannot be underestimated because the most precious thing they have is their child's health.
